So, now we're pretty well settled-in in Austin. Our apartment is starting to feel less like a hotel room and more like our home. Here are some photos of our few days in Austin.
1.) The day after Evan arrived he started work. Here he is on his first day of work, with a bowl of oatmeal, our breakfast of choice. 2.) Mom and my niece Grace came for visit a couple of weeks in. We had a jolly time, including when Grace dressed up in all my scarves. 3.) Grace also helped me finish this awesome puzzle featuring Pope John Paul II.
When moving down to Austin, Evan and I packed the car full to its brim, drugged Eleanor, and headed out on a 40-some-odd-hour long road trip. The first night we stayed in Salt Lake City. The next day was just a short drive to Moab, Utah, where we visited STUNNING Arches National Park. The next two nights we spent in Gallup, NM, where our old pal Landon lives on the Res. We had a truly jolly time. The next day we drove and drove, but Evan left the back open so all my stuff flew out, so we had to drive and drive back and back. We ended up not making it home, and staying in somewhere podunk in Oklahoma. Finally, on my birthday, we made it to Bloomburg.
All the pictures here are from Arches National Park. First, our view as we drove into the park. 2. Me standing in front of one of the first arches we saw. 3. A big lizard we saw, but I could only catch the tail of. 4. Evan and I in front of the spires. 5. And old pioneer cabin, well preserved in the desert. 6. The very famous Window Arch, I believe it's called. 7. Evan and me sitting INSIDE a HUGE arch. 8. Evan in front of that same arch, from a distance. 9. Evan inside an arch from afar, and 10. is a close-up of the same. 11. Is our last view as we drove out of the park at night.
